Great Schism- Michael I Cerularuis 12

(100 A.D- 1059 A.D) Michael was born in Constantinople in the 1000. Michael and the Pope Leo IX sent letters back and forth arguing about how each of the churches differed from each other and this ultimately lead to the Great Schism.
Q: When was the first letter sent and what did it say?
A: Pope Leo sent the first letter assuring me that the donation was real and then I sent a letter back that completely attacked the church and I also called the Pope brother instead of father.
Q: What happened as a result of that?
A: The Cardinal then sent me a notice of excommunication on July 19, 1054 so I in turn excommunicated the cardinal which lead to the east and west Schism.
Q: What was a result from the East-West Schism?
A: It confirmed that the Pope was the ultimate authority over religious matters.
